Gary Kraftsow and selected faculty provide yoga intervention development, training and consultation for research studies and commercial development. The American Viniyoga Institute has a nationwide network of Viniyoga teachers and Yoga Therapists, many of whom are interested in working in research and other settings. Gary Kraftsow and faculty Clare Collins, PhD, RN, FAAN, CYT, E-RYT 500, Beth Whitney-Teeple, PhD, RYT-500 and several AVI graduates are actively involved in supporting yoga research.

NIH Chronic Low Back Pain Study

Gary Kraftsow developed the Viniyoga Therapy intervention for a National Institutes of Health study on low back pain. The study demonstrated positive results and was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in 2005. AVI Graduate, Robin Rothenberg, taught the intervention.
