Experience the powerful inner tools of psychophysical transformation esteemed by the Tantric yogis of India. We'll systematically examine the theory and practical application of pranayama, and explore how to effectively integrate pranayama with bandhas in the asana practice. These practices help us increase and regulate our purifying fire (agni), cultivate and strengthen our vital energy (prana shakti), and develop and strengthen our will and determination (sankalpa shakti).
Integrated practice and discussion.
Sunday, April 15 — 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Main Conference - Session 6
Contemplative / Mixed Levels
Our intention is affected by our thoughts, feelings, and desires, which are in turn affected by our conditioning. As we begin to gain control of our mind, we develop the determination and strength to overcome our conditioning and to continue the inner journey. Come learn how the ancients developed ritualized actions (such as nyasa, or gestures) and objects (such as yantra), believing that as attachments are loosened, the inner light begins to illumine our minds and the True Self emerges.
Asana, pranayama, mantra, meditation, and ritual.
Monday, April 16 — 9:00am - 4:30pm
Monday All-Day Intensives
Therapeutic / Mixed Levels
Viniyoga Therapy for Emotional Well-Being: Focus on Anxiety and Depression Discover the yoga therapy perspective and methods for working with anxiety and depression, exploring psychological aspects of the human system, models of the integrated personality that emerge from Vedic teachings, and the science of meditation that the ancients developed for reducing suffering and cultivating our higher human potential. In the morning we'll focus on working with anxiety, and in the afternoon we'll focus on depression.
Discussion and asana practice.
