Program Overview TT program highlights.
The purpose of TT is to educate teachers to provide group and individual yoga instruction in diverse settings. This program emphasizes the personal practice of the yoga teacher as the foundation of the training program. In addition, the program focuses on theoretical understanding of the philosophy and science of Yoga and the practical application of this knowledge to personal practice and the art of teaching.
TT is an opportunity for practitioners and teachers at all levels of experience to learn the Viniyoga™ approach to Yoga. During the program, students immerse themselves in the study and practice of asana, pranayama, meditation and chanting. An emphasis is placed on the personal practice of the teacher as the cornerstone of the learning process. Guided home study between sessions helps students apply concepts from each training session to their personal practice and teaching. An extensive Student Manual is provided to students at the first session.
An AVI TT graduate is uniquely qualified to assess the needs of the group and create integrated, balanced practices appropriate for the group. The AVI graduate possesses the finely-honed skills necessary to teach all levels of students, and to bring yoga to health, fitness, education, and personal transformation professions.
The AVI TT program is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level under the 2008 guidelines.
